The head of counterterrorism operations for the U.S. Department of State said the al-Qaeda network is largely broken and has lost the ability to conduct large-scale terrorist operations.

While the U.S. has still been unable to kill or capture the organization’s top leaders, they have nevertheless been “beaten back into a hole” by relentless pressure from special operations, law enforcement and drone attacks.

Congratulations to our brave soldiers! Your sacrifices were not in vain!

This victory is a long-sought milestone on the way to even bigger victories! God bless the Iraqi people, and Godspeed further victories over the outworn, corrupt and demeaning ideological false-gods which have, for more than a hundred years, caused them such suffering!

This IS a victory, and may indeed clear the way for humans of goodwill everywhere to rationally examine ways and means of resolving the hardening dichotomy now facing so much of humanity, namely:

Muslims (and Islamists in particular) see themselves as obedient to the most-recent Messenger of God; see themselves as spiritually superior to other humans (to kffir-unbelievers) and as having a God-given right to subjugate all other kffir unless and until the Coming of the al-Qaim and the al-Mahdi, expected in 1260AH.

The Islamic point of this dichotomy, succinctly, is: Convert, submit to Muslims, or die!

The Free-World’s part of this dichotomy is: No way, NO SURRENDER, NO submitting to the whims of ignorant, self-proclaimed ‘mullahs‘ and ‘imams‘ or their demeaning, misogynist, homophobic, xenophobic, racist, terrorist duplicity! NEVER!

Briefly, Muslims are NOT going to convert the Free World, or conquer it, and are not going to allow ordinary humans to revise or update the Koran. Rational, freedom-loving humans are NOT going to bomb 800 MILLION Muslims to death. It isn’t going to happen.

But the Islamists are NOT going to stop their push for material supremacy, male-dominated ascendency, sexual apartheid and complete domination of kffirs, unless and until the Coming of the al-Qaim (the Point around which revolve ALL the Prophets of humankind’s past, Who prophecied His Coming).

Is there any way out of this Muslims-vs-Rationality conflict? Is there a Deus ex machina that’s actually part of the machina?

Could there have been One Who came, in the year 1260? (time, times, half-a-time?) Could there have been One Who came in the human form, filled with the in-dwelling Holy Spirit as Jesus foretold? One Whose ‘fruits’ would be righteous enough to delight Christian, Jew and Muslim alike, such that ‘by their fruits shall ye know them’?

If only the year 1260AH had NOT been the same year as 1844 on the Christian calendar, we might better ignore the One Who came, May 22-23, 1844. As John the Baptist prepared the way for the Coming of Christ, He prepared the way for the Coming of the Lord of Hosts, the Glory of God.

If only the Promised One had come, Muslims everywhere would have a rational alternative to obeying their power-hungry, ignorant mullahs and imams. Muslims around the world would have a chance to turn toward God’s latest Messengers, IF ONLY THEY COULD LEARN of the Coming of the Twin Holy Lights foretold in Revelations.

Because being kept ignorant of Their holy Messages (the Oneness of Humankind, the Equality of Men & Women, the requirement for independent rational investigation of reality, personal responsibility to God, the necessity for both Science AND Religion…) has brought Iraq DECADES of terrible suffering, quite similar to that heaped on the Glory of God when Iranian clergy-government exiled Him to Baghdad in 1853!

If only the mortal remains of The One, martyred in Iran July 9, 1850, had been brought lovingly to the Holy Land, and interred on God’s holy mountain, Mount Carmel, to create a bond of loving respect between Iran and Israel…

If only- but, wait! Have They come? Have Two Holy Lights shone in Iran and Iraq, to light the way for humankind in this New Day, begun on the very day the Electronic Age began (with the telegraph)? Have They created the world’s first -and so far, ONLY- World Community?

Is there a way for Muslims to see themselves as turning toward God in obedience to The Bab and Baha’u'llah? Is there a way for Muslims to dis-empower their power-maddened mullahs and imams while moving quickly into the Modern Reality of Today?

Could a rational examination of the ‘fruits’ of the Teachings and the life of The Bab and The Glory of God lead proud Westerners to a radiant acquiescence to the Will of God as adumbrated by Baha’u'llah for THIS Day?

When ‘Abdu-l Baha, (Sir ‘Abdu-l Baha Abbas, Knight of the Realm, knighted for his relief work in the Palestine in WWI) came to America after his release, by the Young Turks, from political imprisonment in the Holy Land, he praised America’s courage, America’s commitment to individual responsibility, and other aspects of the American spirit. According to God, much is right about America!

So the American who’ve won some freedom of choice for Iraqis in Iraq have won a valuable, potent and ennobling stage in Iraq’s journey, alongside other civilized nations of the world, toward a clearer understanding of and obedience to Baha’u'llah!

Thank you, Troops! Thank you, Iraqis! Thank God!

Apparently the Pentagon thinks so:

US secret forces are intensifying their cross-border raids into Pakistani tribal areas because of fears of a high-profile al-Qaeda attack during the American election campaign…

…Against this backdrop, a senior US intelligence official said that al Qaeda was seeking to stage a major attack on an American target close to the election, to test the new president-elect.

“Their goal would not be to influence the election but merely to send a message that they are still a force to be reckoned with,” the official said. “They know that a successful attack in the election season will have maximum impact, and they want to give the new president the jitters.”

Any attack in the weeks before the Nov 4 election - what is known in American political circles as an “October surprise” - would almost certainly give a decisive boost to John McCain, the Republican candidate who already holds a commanding lead on questions of national security.

Which, if true, really makes me wonder - why would al Qaeda want to boost McCain just before the election? Or are they foolish enough to think that an attack would help Obama? Those are real questions, by the way; I’m perplexed.

Personally, I think it has everything to do with influencing the election (even if I can’t quite figure out their reasoning) which will be evident IF an attack happens BEFORE Nov. 4. If after, then, and only then, will I buy the bit about “sending a message.” But also, personally, I doubt that al Qaeda can do anything on the scope of 9/11 or the London bombing, and I also doubt that they can pull off anything on U.S. soil that wouldn’t be worse than the criminal incidents that we suffer every day.
