Making life-changing decisions in the second grade

From Moonbattery we learn:

The public schools of Douglas County, Colorado stand ready to pretend that a boy in the third grade is a girl.

Please note, the original article has posted a correction - the child is in the second grade.

So why would any parents put their child through this?  Why, because he “wants to dress as a girl and be addressed with a girl’s name.”  Children, of course, should be indulged in every whim.  In their confusion the parents turned to Kim Pearson, the executive director of a national organization called TransYouth Family Advocates.

Pearson says their group is working with an increasing number of families nationwide who have elementary age transgender kids.

Pearson says children as young as 5 years old are realizing their true gender identity and her group wants to help parents who may be resisting the acceptance of this.

A 5 year old has barely grasped the concept of self versus others, but this group thinks they are ready to decide that nature made a huge error in assigning their genitalia?   And that it’s the PARENTS who are confused and need to learn to accept it??

Better start building more mental hospitals NOW.

Sadly, my home-schooled children will miss out on this “socialization.”

I’m so envious that you can home school! As a struggling single parent that wasn’t an option for me. Luckily my sons seem to have seen through the crap they were fed at school and I was able to get my daughter into a charter school where there is at least less liberal crap.

I don’t understand it. I simply don’t understand where this society has corroded (sorry for mispelling if any) to the point that parents are now butlers serving to their children’s whims. I know that there are some children that show feminine characteristics at early ages. But the fact of the matter is, they are CHILDREN, and they should not be able to determine sexuality. There may be an underlying reason, which there always is why children identify sexually early whether it be heterosexually or homosexually. Has that even been explored? I wonder what would be next? Ten year olds who are attracted to 40 year old men are allowed to explored their feelings? This isn’t a political issue, and it doesn’t have to even be a scriptural or otherwise religious one, how about a plain old common sense one?
