Here’s the clandestine recording of Harry Reid’s secretary this morning…

this is well worth knowing about. It is one of the most focused abuses of power you may see in this country ever.

1 - Two Mondays ago, Rush Limbaugh did a brief rant about phoney soldiers such as Jesse “MacBeth” Alzaid (whom he named) and Scott Beauchamp.

2 - On Wednesday, he took a call from someone who claimed to be a Republican and an Iraq veteran who was now disillusioned and disgusted with Bush’s war etc. A call or two later, another guy called and said he hated these guys whom the media always dig up, and Rush said “Yes, phoney soldiers.” They went on to talk about Jesse MacBeth.

3 - Media Matters for America, which Hillary has proudly claimed to have a hand in founding, blew up those two words “phoney soldiers” and published a screed claiming that Rush insulted troops serving in Iraq.

4 - Harry Reid denounced Rush on the Senate floor and invited other Senators to sign a silly letter he had penned to the head of Clear Channel asking that head-guy to fire or scold Rush or make him apologize.

5 - 41 Senators signed this preposterous letter, including Obama and Clinton.

6 - The letter was sent, and the Clear Channel head guy gave it to Rush.

7 - Rush announced at a big speech-type event that he was selling the letter on e-bay and donating the proceeds to a charity called the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Organization (I think that’s it), which gives scholarships to the kids of fallen heroes. The charity has 4% overhead and gives 96% of its money to its beneficiaries. Rush also pledged to match whatever the high bid is, and someone somewhere along the way has challenged the 41 plenipotentiaries who signed it to match the pledge.

8 - Hilarity has ensued. The highest bid is now around $2 million. The left has egg all over its face. … (Hat Tip : SquarePeg)

Well, Sir, the best way to frame this is that your stand on modifying the First Amendment rights of private citizens will be in the news for a LONG time to come!

No, Sir, that’s not so bad… You’ll be staying at home today? Well, you’d better not listen to the radio, Mr Reid.
