How careful is YOUR Congressional Rep with YOUR money?
Friday, August 10th, 2007Americans pay 10% to 35% of their income to the Federal government in income taxes. I don’t know about you, but to me that represents a lot of money that I could really really use for such silly things as paying for my children’s educations, saving for retirement, saving for emergencies, and maybe even GOING somewhere when we’re on vacation. But I understand that our Federal government serves a vital purpose, and that it’s my duty to support the government.
Considering how much of our income the government takes, wouldn’t it be nice if we could count on our representatives in Congress to spend that money wisely? Including having the stones to say NO to spending for frivolous or inappropriate purposes?
The Club for Growth certainly thinks so, and they have released the 2007 RePORK Card. How does your representative rate?
Mine scored an abysmal 2%. Apparently he feels quite free about spending MY money.
