Olberman Defends O’Reilly?
Thursday, August 2nd, 2007Keith Oldermann was not available for comment today, as Keith Olberman defended O’Reilly in an uncharacteristically rational broadcast.
But being Olberman, he uses THIS specious argument to criticize O’Reilly:
(Olberman speaking here:)
Our Winner: BillO, explaining his stance on immigration reform, and remember that is code for ‘we don’t like Mexican people’. So BillO says, “Most Americans don’t want to hurt any poor Mexican people. They want to know who they are. They want to know where they are; what they’re doing. They don’t want them clustering in neighborhoods and changing the tempo of the whole neighborhood.”
You know, the same way the anti-immigrant bigots didn’t my immigrant German ancestors changing the tempo of the whole neighborhood in 1900. The same anti-immigrant bigots didn’t want Bill’s immigrant Irish ancestors changing the tempo of the whole neighborhood in 1950.”
Not quite, Olberman! YOUR ‘immigrant German ancestors’ CAME TO America LEGALLY! They became naturalized Americans LEGALLY! There’s a BIG DIFFERENCE between your ‘immigrant German ancestors’ and the millions of cross-border sneaks to whom you compare them!
